La Focaccia ” was born from a simple idea: to bring to Amsterdam the true flavor of Italian pizza, the kind that has been a staple of family life in Rome and throughout Italy for centuries.

Our pizza chef grew up in Rome, in a family where the kitchen was the center of daily life. Pizza wasn't just food: it was tradition, celebration, and sharing. Every Sunday, the house smelled of freshly baked bread, stuffed focaccias, and dough left to rest for hours, while grandparents and parents shared their stories around the table.

From there, a passion was born that has never faded: studying flours, learning slow leavening techniques, always choosing the best products, because a good pizza starts with a dough made with love and authentic ingredients.

When our pizza chef arrived in Amsterdam, he decided to bring this wealth of memories and traditions with him. Thus, La Focaccia was born: a pizzeria that aims to combine Italian culture with the vibrant heart of the city.

Every pizza we bake is a journey:
From the ancient history of Rome, where focaccia was already the food of the legionaries,
 To the tradition of neighborhood bakeries, where even today pizza by the slice accompanies quick lunches,
